Nothing you learn is wasted.
Every lesson is written to reuse the words you already met. It is a rule the course is tested against, not a promise. So by the time you reach a real sentence, most of it is already yours. Tap any word.

The script, done properly
Most Urdu apps skip Nastaliq. This one starts with it.
All 39 letters, in the order that makes them easiest to read: the ones that never join first, then the connectors, then the awkward sounds last. Every letter here is taught in the app. Pick one and see how it changes shape.
The Roman spelling never disappears
Other apps fade the Roman away to make things harder. We do not. It sits under every word, for as long as you want it. You stop looking at it when you are ready, and by then you are reading the script the way it is actually written.
Every shape a letter takes
Urdu letters change form depending on where they sit in a word. The app teaches all four positions, so a letter you learned on its own is still a letter you recognise in the middle of a real word.
Letters unlock words you already say
Each batch of letters is chosen so that finishing it lets you read words from lessons you have already done. The first time you read شکریہ without help is the moment the script stops being decoration.
What is inside
Seventeen units, built in the order you actually need them.
It starts with the words you would use in your first thirty seconds with someone, and works outward from there. The script runs alongside from day one rather than waiting at the end.
An honest app
Made by one person who wanted a good Urdu app to exist.
There was not one, so this got built. Everything below is a decision, not a limitation we are dressing up.
No ads, and no lives
Nothing interrupts a lesson, and nothing stops you learning because you ran out of something. You are not the product being sold to somebody else.
No account, and nothing leaves your phone
You never sign up. There is no email, no password, no profile. Your progress is stored on your device and the app never asks for anything about you.
Works on a plane, and on the metro
Every lesson and all 1,932 audio clips are inside the app itself. No signal needed, no loading spinner, no clip that fails to play when you need it.
A real person reads your email
If a word is wrong, a clip does not play, or something is missing, write in from inside the app. It goes to one inbox, and it gets read.
A word a week
One useful Urdu word, every Monday.

Fluencyverse is building a Verse app for languages that deserve a genuinely good one and do not have it yet. Urdu comes first, and it will not move on until Urdu is actually good.
